Tokat Ilmiyat Journal is an academic journal published by TOGU Faculty of Islamic Sciences in two issues on June 30 and December 30. The journal aims to publish articles, translations, book reviews, etc. written in the field of religious studies (social and human sciences) and share them with the public.

The target audience of the journal is academics working in the field of theology and other scientists interested in these issues.

Our journal publishes studies produced in the disciplines in the Basic Field of Theology.

Accordingly; Tafsir, Hadith, Kalam, Islamic Law, History of Islamic Sects, Sufism, Qiraat, Arabic Language and Literature in the field of Basic Islamic Sciences; Philosophy of Religion, Psychology of Religion, Sociology of Religion, Religious Education, History of Religions, History of Philosophy, Islamic Philosophy, Logic in the field of Philosophy and Religious Sciences; Islamic History, History of Islamic Arts, Turkish-Islamic Literature and Religious Music in the field of Islamic History and Arts.

NOTE: Our journal accepts articles continuously and publishes 13-16 articles in each issue. Accepted and accepted articles will be included in the relevant issue by sorting them according to their acceptance dates. Articles exceeding the quota will be published in the next issue.

Tokat Ilmiyat Journal Writing Rules

1. Submitted articles should not exceed 9000 words including title, abstracts, bibliography.

2. Isnad 2nd Edition should be used for titling, citation, transcription, abbreviations and bibliography.

3. The article should be written using Isnad Font font. The article must have a title, English title, 200-300 word abstract in Turkish and English, and at least 5 keywords. After the article is accepted for publication, an extended abstract will not be requested from the author. When translating the person(s), work names and important concepts mentioned in the abstract into English, Isnad 2nd Edition translation alphabet should be taken into account. In articles written in a foreign language, the subtitle must also be in Turkish.

4. In the text of the article, there should be absolutely no information about the author's name-surname, imprint information, conflict of interest and author contribution rates (in studies with more than one author), if the article is produced from thesis, project, communiqué, etc. In studies derived from graduate theses, the author with the highest contribution rate must be the author of the thesis. All of this information should be in the Cover Letter and should be sent separately from the article. 5. Ethics Committee Permission
Our journal requires that the relevant ethics committee decision must be obtained for all studies in all disciplines that require ethics committee permission. In this context, information about the ethics committee permission (name of the committee, date and decision number) should be clearly stated in the text of the article.
In line with the regulations implemented by Ulakbim TR Index since 2020, studies that do not have ethics committee permission are not evaluated in our journal.

Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Approval
In our journal, researches that require ethics committee permission include the following studies:
• All research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that involve collecting data from participants through methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, experiments and interview techniques,
• Studies in which humans and animals (including materials or data) are used for experimental or other scientific purposes,
• Clinical trials conducted on humans,
• Scientific research on animals,
• Retrospective studies within the framework of the Personal Data Protection Law.
In order for such studies to be included in the evaluation, the relevant ethics committee permissions must be obtained and these permissions must be clearly stated in the text of the article.

6. Article page layout:
All margins: 2.5 cm
All Line Spacing: Single
Text Size: 10 point
Paragraph indent: 1 cm and rectilinear
Paragraph Spacing: 6 pt before, 6 pt after
Footnote Size: 8 point
Footnote indentation: 0.5 cm
Footnotes must be written according to the Isnad 2 citation system.
The information of the work should not be missing in the footnote and bibliography.
If the source information is missing, the Isnad 2nd Edition should be consulted.

7. Headings:
The font of all headings should be Isnad Font, 10 pt. and Bold.
Only the first letter of all titles should be capitalized.
There should not be any numbering in the Introduction and Conclusion.
Other headings should be numbered as 1., 2., (1.1., 1.2. 1.1.1., 1.1.2. if applicable).

8. All citations must comply with the ISNAD Citation System.

Manuscripts that do not fulfill these conditions will not be included in the peer review process.

The ethical principles and editorial policy of Tokat İlmiyat Journal have been prepared by taking into account the Press Law, the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works, the guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and shape scientific methods. Therefore, it is important for all parties involved in publishing, authors, journal editors, referees and publishing organizations to agree on the standards of expected ethical behavior:

1. Authorship
The bibliography list should be complete.
Plagiarism and fake data should not be included.
The same research should not be attempted to be published in more than one journal, and scientific research and publication ethics should be followed.

Actions against science research and publication ethics are as follows:
a) Plagiarism: Presenting the ideas, methods, data, practices, writings, figures or works of others as their own work, in whole or in part, without attribution in accordance with scientific rules,
b) Fraud: To produce data that is not based on research, to edit or change the presented or published work on the basis of untrue data, to report or publish these, to make an unfinished research appear as if it has been done
c) Distortion: To falsify research records and obtained data, to present methods, devices and materials that were not used in the research as if they were used, not to evaluate the data that are not suitable for the research hypothesis, to manipulate the data and/or results in order to fit the relevant theory or assumptions, falsifying or shaping research results in their own interests,
ç) Republishing: To present more than one work containing the same results of a research as separate works in associate professor examination evaluations and academic promotions,
d) Slicing: Presenting the results of a research as separate works in the evaluations of associate professorship exams and in academic promotions, by dividing the results of a research in a way that violates the integrity of the research, and by making multiple publications without reference to each other
e) Unfair authorship: Including people who do not contribute actively among the authors, not including those who contribute actively among the authors, changing the order of authors without justification and inappropriately, removing the names of those who contributed actively from the work at the time of publication or in subsequent editions, influencing their influence even though they did not contribute actively. to include his name among the authors,
f) Other types of ethical violations: Not clearly stating the supporting persons, institutions or organizations and their contributions in the publications of the research carried out with support, not complying with the ethical rules in research on humans and animals, not respecting the rights of patients in their publications, to share the information contained in the work with others before it is published, to misuse the resources, places, facilities and devices provided or reserved for scientific research, to accuse completely baseless, groundless and deliberate ethical violations (YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive, Article 8).

2. Author's Responsibilities
All authors must contribute significantly to the research.
All data in the article must be declared as true and original.
All authors must ensure retraction and correction of errors.

3. Responsibilities of Arbitrators
Evaluations should be impartial.
Reviewers should not have a conflict of interest with the research, authors and/or research funders.
Referees should cite relevant published but not cited works.
Checked articles should be kept confidential.

4. Editorial Responsibilities
Editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article.
Editors should not have a conflict of interest regarding the accepted or rejected articles.
Only articles that will contribute to the field should be accepted.
It should support the release or withdrawal of the fix when errors are found.
Referees must remain anonymous and prevent plagiarism/fake data.
The peer-review process is central to the success of scientific publishing. It is part of our commitment to protect and improve the peer review process, and Tokat ilmiyat journal has an obligation to assist the scientific community in all publishing ethics-related matters, especially in cases of dubious, duplicate publications or plagiarism.

Complaints
When the reader notices an important mistake or mistake in an article published in the tokat ilmiyat journal, or has a complaint about the editorial content (plagiarism, duplicate articles, etc.), they can make a complaint by sending an e-mail to ilmiyat@gop.edu.tr. We welcome complaints as they will provide an opportunity for us to improve, and we aim to respond quickly and constructively.

Plagiarism Checker
Manuscripts submitted for publication in the Journal of Tokat İlmiyat are subjected to double blind peer review by at least two referees. In addition, the iThenticate program, which is used to detect plagiarism, confirms that the articles have not been published before and do not contain plagiarism. The similarity rate is expected to be less than 20%. Studies exceeding this rate are not evaluated.

Protection of Personal Data
All personal data submitted to our journal are protected in accordance with legal regulations and ethical rules.

Use of Artificial Intelligence
The use of artificial intelligence in processes that do not affect the originality of the article, such as literature review or language control, is acceptable in studies submitted to our journal. However, the use of artificial intelligence should be carried out within the framework of ethical rules and should never be used for unethical purposes such as fabricated data and manipulation.
For studies involving the use of artificial intelligence, it is mandatory to inform our journal about this situation at the article submission stage. All responsibility for the use of artificial intelligence lies with the authors themselves.

Special Issue Publication Policy
Special issues can be published once a year in our journal in line with the decision of the Editorial Board. Articles submitted for the special issue go through the same evaluation processes as the articles in our regular issues.

Price Policy
The publication of articles in the journal and the execution of article processes are not subject to any fee. No processing or submission fees are charged for articles submitted to the journal or accepted for publication.

Advertising Policy
Our journal does not accept sponsorship and advertising in accordance with its publication policies. All expenses of our journal are covered by Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University.
